How to use the classes

Luna Sadhana Personal Practice acknowledges the cyclical and ever flowing nature of life. Below you’ll find four different videos, they are named after the seasons, reflecting the nature of them. You may choose to use the same class throughout the relevant season. Or to rotate them daily or weekly. Women may choose to use them in sync with their own cycle. Or you may choose one based on how you are feeling that day, for example if you are feeling a little under the weather Winter may be good for you to move slowly and go within, or if you are feeling strong and want to be challenged, try Summer!

  • Each video is around 10 minutes long so can be incorporated into anyones daily schedule

  • Follow with a guided meditation and journaling exercise to form a complete personal practice attending to the body, mind & spirit (= approx. 30 mins daily)

Spring - growth, clearing space

Summer - taking action, realising & overcoming obstacles

Autumn - harvest, reflection

Winter - preservation, planning

- Follow with a guided meditation and journaling exercise -

To prepare, I recommend taking a moment to sit and find stillness.

It can be beneficial to use a breathing technique to help you slow down and tune in for practice.

A simple one I like to use in my classes is box breathing:

Inhale for 4 counts

Hold for 4 counts

Exhale for 4 counts

Hold for 4 counts

Repeat.

You can increase this to 6 or 8 counts.

Try at least 4 rounds.

Spring

A time of new beginnings. A great place to begin if you are new to yoga or are coming back after some time out.

Use this class to clear out old energies and grow into new space. A gentle approach for stirring yourself up and out of a time of stillness.

Perfect for:

  • coming back to yoga after some time out

  • navigating transitional periods in life

- goes well with Release & Reprogram guided meditation -

Summer

High energy, the time for peak performance and taking action.

Use this practice to be challenged- improving balance, core strength, twists and deep backbends.

Perfect for:

  • challenging and maintaining a regular practice

  • high energy- start your day as you mean to go on!

- goes well with Highest Self guided meditation -

Autumn

Known as the time for harvest. A time to look back on what we have achieved and what we have received. Was it what we planned, what we had asked for? A time to reap the benefits of our hard work and practice deep gratitude.

Use this class to test your strength, balance and focus. Allowing yourself to wind down towards the end, to receive the gifts of the work you have put in.

Perfect to:

  • challenge yourself with balances

  • reflect on your focus and progress

  • put into practice what you have learnt

- goes well with Unblock Creativity & Receive Prosperity guided meditation -

Winter

A time for preservation. To go within, reflecting on ourselves and our achievements. Listening deeply.

Use this to move slowly, to preserve and nurture your energy. Focusing on breath to connect deeply. Listening to your bodies needs. If you have a yoga block you can use it during this class.

Perfect for:

  • the days that, for whatever reason, you just don’t want to move too much! (move gently and meditate)

  • when you’re feeling unwell/ low energy/ working with pain or minor injury

  • winding down before bed

  • to ease anxiety

- goes well with Heal & Restore guided meditation -

Guided Meditation…

After a yoga practice is a brilliant time to experience a guided meditation. You may find you are able to access a deeper experience after some exercise and be in a more receptive state of mind. There is a selection you can choose from here.

An alternative would be to use a sound frequency to deepen your relaxation during savasana. You can find some good ones on YouTube or Spotify.

…and Journaling

A personal practice is about deepening our relationship with ourselves. Yoga and meditation can at times bring us clarity and at other times bring our personal challenges to the surface. Taking time to write what came up for us, can be deeply therapeutic and insightful.

Journaling prompts are included with the guided meditations.
